Poetry Submission

Who: Youth ages 14-19/Grades 9-12 in Treaty Territories 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 (Saskatchewan).

The poetry project will be featured on this website as a legacy project.

What: Create a poem to answer the question: What does the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation mean to you?

Please limit the poem to one page and upload a photograph or send a PDF document.

When: Due date is July 15th, 2022 at 4:30 pm CST. The first 50 submissions will be entered.

How: Please follow the assessment rubrics found here. Fill out the form below with all of the required information. Unclear or poor imagery will not be accepted.

Volunteer judges will choose eight (8) poetry finalists. Judges' decisions are final. $500.00 will be awarded to each of the 8 finalists. One submission per group/individual per category.

Finalists will be contacted and further information will be requested before awarding prizes. The following information is needed from all finalists:

  • Media/Release Parental consent form for youth under the age of 16.
  • Media/Release Consent form for youth ages 17-19.
